Lake Bolsena climate an travel season

As in the entire heartland of central Italy, the climate at the Lake Bolsena is mild. In summer it is thoroughly dry and warm - especially in July and August it can get really hot (35°-40°), so you should do your sight-seeing in the morning or evening hours. The same goes for shopping, but because of the „siesta“ between 13h-16h shops are closed anyway. In winter, temperatures are between 3°-5°, at times even less than 0° at night. Due to the pleasant temperatures in spring and autumn (18°-25°), this is the best time for sport and tracking-tours.

In early and late summer, it can get also quite cold in the evening and at night. So you should bring your jacket and pullovers.
